We fell in love with the passion and hospitality of this family.<\/p>\n

I was impressed by the variety and quality of wines produced by this family and I am a novice wine lover but I was traveling with a certified wine professional and she was impressed too so that confirms my assessment.<\/p>\n

Sylvia made us delicious bites that paired beautifully with each tasting. Paulo gave us a great education of the vineyard which was officially producing wine since 1924. Sergio showed us around the vineyards and gave us some education about how they care for the grapes to create this beautiful wine.<\/p>\n

This was an experience we will remember forever. Nestled in the hills above Dogliani sits the vineyards and winery of Ca Neuva. This is a family owned winery that produces small productions of fabulous wine-not one or two but NINE lovely wines. I am a certified specialist of wine. So it is with some education that I write this review.<\/p>\n

For a winery of this size to offer this many quality wines is extraordinary. Under the stewardship of third generation wine maker, Sergio Abonna and his intelligent and talented wife Silvia, we were treated to a tasting of all nine wines. Paolo did a terrific job guiding us through our tasting and fielding my questions (I had a lot of questions).<\/p>\n

Silvia creates delightful bites of local cheeses and meats to pair with each of the wines we tasted. Her peach cake is outstanding! Well, we passed by after a walking tour of 4 hours from Monchiero to an open end destination through the vineyards opposite Barolo and ended up in C\u00e0 Neuva (n\u00f6va) near Dogliani in Sergio’s Cantina. My wife almost fainted of hypoglycemia.<\/p>\n

I asked the man feeding his horse about the way back to Monchiero and he invited us to come along and have a wine tasting in his Cantina C\u00e0 Neuva. Sergio Abbona and his wife serve ecxellent fingerfood with the 9 different wines they produce. We are into wines for almost 3 decades and weI have to admit that all his wines are best price for value. Three are grandiose.<\/p>\n

Sergio & Sylvia welcomed us into their home to share stories and wine. Neither spoke English, so we were joined by their 16 year old daughter who added greatly to the experience. We tasted all of their wines of erred and each had a plate of food prepared by Sylvia. The last was local cheese topped with her homemade Dolcetto jam.<\/p>\n

What an afternoon. Our conversations went well beyond wine and when the conversation was over we knew we had made new friends. Sono stata nel periodo estivo per festeggiare la mia laurea. Le mie amiche hanno prenotato la degustazione di vini e un giro in bicicletta. C'\u00e8 anche la possibilit\u00e0 di prendere i cavalli. Comunque merita davvero, ottima vista e paesaggi particolari e suggestivi. Ci ha colpite molto la gentilezza e la disponibilit\u00e0 dei proprietari Silvia e Giorgio. Giorgio si \u00e8 reso disponibile ad accompagnarci a cavallo durante il giro in bici consigliandoci gli scorci pi\u00f9 belli da vedere.
La degustazione \u00e8 stata ottima sia per i vini sia per i piccoli assaggini che ci portavano.<\/p>

Ero titubante, gi\u00e0 provate altre volte non mi avevano mai colpito, questa \u00e8 stata una bellissima esperienza. L'amore per il vino per il lavoro si notano, spiegazioni esaustive assaggi di ben otto vini uno migliore dell'altro, accompagnati da stuzzichini. Un solo bianco e sette rossi di cui io non sono particolarmente amante, ma vi assicuro che alla fine non saprete quale scegliere da acquistare. Ottimo rapporto qualit\u00e0 prezzo. Assolutamente da provare.<\/p>

<\/p>

Bella azienda vinicola con una storia d'amore per il vino che si tramanda da tre generazioni. Il proprietario e la moglie sono persone cordiali, genuine, che trasmettono ai visitatori la passione con cui coltivano e cercano di valorizzare i loro vitigni. La degustazione, al costo di 15 euro per persona, si compone di otto assaggi di vini di loro produzione (1 bianco Arneis, 7 rossi tra cui Dogliani, Barbera, Barolo,....) tutti veramente buonissimi, accompagnati da crostini assortiti e biscotti. Una piacevolissima degustazione che ci ha sorpreso per quantit\u00e0 e qualit\u00e0 dei vini degustati.<\/p>
